Julianne Hough has the face of an angel and a body made for sin. She has proven herself to be a versatile performer as her career includes acting, singing, dancing and producing.
Julianne was born in Orem, Utah. She is the youngest of five siblings. Sharee, Marabeth, Katherine and Derek are Julianne’s siblings. They were raised in the Mormon faith.
Julianne returned to the United States at the age of 15 to finish her education. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles in search of fame and fortune. Landing a job on Dancing With The Stars was her ticket. The show provided a launch pad for her career. Hough stood out on the show and new opportunities came her way quickly.
Hough won Dancing With The Stars twice. First with Apollo Anton Ohno and then with Helio Castroneves.
Julianne recorded a country album in 2007. It debuted at number 1 on Top Country Albums Chart. It peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 100. She began touring with country artist Brad Paisley. During that time she became involved with country singer, Chuck Wicks. The pair went on to perform together on “Dancing With The Stars”. Their relationship lasted a year.
It wasn’t long before Hollywood called and Julianne began her acting career. Her first role was a small part in “Burlesque”. She then moved on to starring parts in the remake of “Footloose” and “Rock of Ages”. She also played the part of a burn victim in Diablo Cody’s “Paradise”. She costarred with Josh Duhamel in Nicholas Spark’s “Safe Haven”. Her latest film projects are the Blumhouse thriller “Curve” and “Dirty Grandpa” with Zac Efron and Robert De Niro.
In 2014 Julianne returned to her roots when she signed on as the fourth judge on “Dancing With The Stars”. The star related how everyone warned her against returning to the show. However, she stated that she believed she could do things her own way. She stated she could still pursue her acting career while being a judge. She does not like to limit herself!
Julianne ended a three year relationship with Ryan Seacrest in 2014. She currently is dating NHL player Brook Laich of the Washington Capitals.
Julianne and Derek launched the show Move Live on Tour in 2014. The show which consists of dancing, singing and comedy toured the country playing to sold out audiences. It was so successful that the siblings again went on the road in 2015.
Hough has added producer to her resume with a new Dance Wars show. The show will be featured on ABC. Her coproducer is Maria Menounos.
